Hearing Aids
Helping the Hearing Impaired is a primary function of the Carson Valley Sertoma chapter. We work with all ages, however we see ourselves as the last resort for "help." If children are of school age, then it is the responsibility of the schools under Federal Statutes / Ed. Code. Adults need to turn to their own insurance providers, V.A., Federal plans -Medicare, etc. or pay for the hearing aids themselves. Sertoma will try and help qualified individuals as a last resort.
The basic rules are: (1) you must live in Douglas County, NV, and (2) you are unable to financially provide for yourself.
First, contact the Department of Social Services in Douglas County, to start the application process. If you meet their criteria for assistance they will contact Sertoma and we will contact you. This Sertoma chapter does not have unlimited funds, but we will try and help.
